Often times, students use a graphic organizer such as a Character Map or a Story Map. Instead of them getting the graphic organizer in their ELA class, they can create the worksheet themselves.
Here is an example of a Character Map with Names using text boxes.
Students can create a document based upon an example or use their own choice of text boxes. They then type in their information and can save and/or print out the document.
Find out what the ELA teacher uses for graphic organizers and have students create them before using them.
